HAPPY LOVERS TOWN

"a typographical game where the typography becomes illustration and imprisons letters between faces, tears, eyes and false third dimensions… the letters becomes hostage of this new world. the phrase enclosed between these lines is resumption in fact from a Woody Allen film where same it explains that in case of war could have only made the hostage…"

ELECTION SELECTION

One of our favourite discoveries of 2008 has been the free PDF magazine from Hamish Hamilton, Five Dials – beautifully laid out and illustrated it really brightens up our commute [as the publishers say – it is best enjoyed in its printed out form.]

For the looming you-know-what they’ve got a few writers [including a member of Spinal Tap no less] together to write about the morning after. Our advice? Switch off the electrical appliances and curl up with Issue 4 tonight – maybe one will be true...

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES'S

We're big fans of Tobis Jones, his illustrations are dope and we like his typography. Jones has been designing flyers for some of the best club nights in London, including the legendary No Pain In Pop club nights and the forthcoming “Nail The Cross” festival, which will be hitting New Cross (London) on 27th September; the line up includes Benga and Hervé. Should be a treat.
