LOUIS DES GARCONS

So we just caught wind of this collaboration… Let's be honest, does it get any better than Rei Kawakubo giving part of her Tokyo COMME des GARCONS store space to commemorate 30 years of Louis Vuitton in Tokyo? We think not!

The space will hold Kawakubo designed bags for Louis Vuitton for a total of three months starting in September.

We’re pretty blown away by this news!

ROOF WITH A VIEW

Spend Saturday night at the movies, overlooking the skyline of New York. A tad more exciting than your average cinematic experience. After this, being sat in a soulless multiplex with popcorn stuck to your feet will be the equivalent of the internet without joes[a]fiend - plain dull [depending on your opinion].

Rooftop Films is a non-profit company, founded in Manhattan by filmmaker Mark Elijah Rosenberg in 1997, and since it has grown in popularity enormously. The films are projected on to a large screen, giving the audience previews of the best underground films every week, with locations varying from parks, to waterways and even on... you guessed it... rooftops.

Be sure to visit www.rooftopfilms.com to see what's on next.

SING IN THE KHAZI WHILE YOU SUSS OUT THE MOON

Have you ever wondered why women can’t go to the toilet without a companion? Well, when you see this fabulous toilet... gents, you will definitely be taking your friends along with you.

The public toilet at The Kulturhuset Cultural Centre in Stockholm, has a densely covered forest ceiling complete with plastic flowers and frogs. If it wasn’t for the sad state of the surrounding walls you might think that you're truly responding to the call of nature.

This mythical environment was designed by Electric Dreams, who are a Stockholm based architecture and design studio.

A [PAPER]CUT ABOVE THE REST

We are pretty damn excited about this bit of news. The fantastical works of Rob Ryan will soon be available from his very own retail space (dubbed 'Ryantown') on Columbia Road.

Sadly he only plans to open on Sundays so you'll have to brave the claustrophobia inducing flower crowds that flock to E2, however he is opening at 8am.

Ryantown opens on Sunday 29th June @ 126 Columbia Road, E2 7RG

THINKING INSIDE THE HBOX

Designed by Artist and architect Didler Fiuza Faustino and curated by Benjamin Weil, this spaceship like box will transport you into the great unknown…Ok, so that is not entirely true but the H-Box, commissioned by Hermès, has traveled around the world showing viewers new collections by eight international video artists.

Dora Garcia

First unveiled at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, it has since traveled to Spain and Luxembourg and will now be coming to London for a limited period.

Dora Garcia

Opening on Thursday 3rd July on the Turbine Hall Bridge at Tate Modern, the H-box will feature works by eight artists such as Alice Anderson, Yael Bartana and Sebastian Diaz Morales. The programme of new commissions for H Box will be updated every year, with four new works replacing a previous quartet. No doubt the H Box will provide an out-of-this-world dynamic insight into the moving imagery of contemporary artists.

GLASS CEILING

Aesop’s newest store opens in Adelaide’s Rundle Mall. Aesop collaborated with Rodney Eggleston to create yet another awe-inspiring space. Aesop is a brand that is becoming renowned for its stores. Each store is unique and embodies the brand essence. The ceiling is constructed from 7,560 amber glass bottles which have been the vessel chosen to hold Aesop products since 1978 for their ability to guard the integrity and stability of the product.

The London store designed by Studio Ilse is another example of an amazing Aesop space, that embodies the brand and is nothing like any of the other spaces. Aesop has developed a tradition of innovation within their store conception notably the Flinders Lane, Melbourne store. The interior is made entirely of industrial-grade cardboard; from the display shelving, to the massive eastern façade, and even the counter tops.
