"5 Pointz is a free public outdoor art exhibit that spans a full city block in Long Island City, Queens. It is a commercial factory building that is almost entirely covered by Aerosol Art, more commonly known as graffiti.
5 Pointz is an organized outdoor gallery which is curated by Meres One. The walls painted on the building are all done with a permit after a review of the artists work and proper placement by Meres. The placement is decided on by the quality of the work, the time the artist is willing to spend on it will also determine the amount of time it will last. All murals are eventually gone over due to an influx of artists from all over the world, including the originators of this sub-culture and some of the most famous and talented to do it throughout the decades."

PS You may have noticed things have got quiet round here, we're using Flickr and twitter more than ever, make sure you've got us:
When we got a call from our friends at Nike iD London and they told us they had a pit bull in the studio, we were a little confused. They told us to make sure we popped down to see it for ourselves. So we did and we LOVE it! As the old saying goes, 'a dog is a man's best friend', it's true. The pit bull is part of a two dog set, the other caninecan be found at Loveless in Aoyama, Tokyo. If you can pop into the London studio to pet the lovable little creature.
The pit bull was created by Vinti Andrews, an ex fashion student from Central St. Martins. The design school's notable alumni include John Galliano, Giles Deacon and Gareth Pugh to name a few. We’ve got a feeling Vinti Andrews will be one to watch in 09.

Fashion royalty Hedi Slimane has teamed up with fashion powerhouse Prada to shoot their Spring advertising campaign. After parting company with Dior, Slimane resumed his photography career, most recently working with Dazed & Confused.
We received this amazing e-card from the super talent guys at Mishkin. Check out their blog to see more of their amazing work - mishkinmishkin.blogspot.com.
Whilst on my way to the studio to enjoy a glass of mulled wine and mince pie I spotted this billboard. For sure I did a double take, for a second I thought I had imagined it, but oh no! I've heard the saying, 'simple advertising, is the best advertising', not sure who said it, but it's true.
I spotted the poster on Bethnal Green Road, so I began to think 'is this a subversive advert for a new restaurant opening or something along those lines?' I dialled the number... it really is an advert for erectile dysfunction.
Two of joes[a]fiend's favourites brands, Lavin and Acne have come together to create an amazing denim range. The range isn't cheap but would you expect it to be, when you combine the creative force of Alber Elbaz and the Acne power house?
The Pot Noodle spoof of the Guinness ad nicely titled "Tipping Point" has been voted best viral video of 2008 by Campaign magazine. The video by AKQA cost a meager £10,000 in comparison to the reported £10m cost of the Guinness advert. We love the Pot Noodle advert mainly for the blow up doll.
joes[a]fiend has always had a policy of only wearing Supreme five panel caps, that's just the way we are. I guess things always change and this could be the time for a New Era.
Whilst on the Northern Line I spotted a guy sitting opposite me in what looked like at first sight a Fez with a peak! Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a New Era Fez, I could barely contain my excitement! So as soon as I got home the search began to find out what this mysterious piece of headwear was.
Who else to turn to than Nai at Strictly Fitteds for the 'heads up'. Turns out that this New Era Fez is a collaboration with the UK streetwear brand Yes No Maybe.
Paul Smith has just updated his gifts section on his website [I'm sure Sir Paul didn't do it himself] here are our top four picks from the lot. There's a fair few bits on the site, click here to see what they've got.
How joes[a]fiend would love to head over to Colophon in Luxembourg this year... alas we will have to wait patiently until the time is right.
In the meantime it is worth checking out the interviews section of their site for a little insight in to how some of the greatest independent titles around do their thing at present. We particularly enjoyed Kasino A4's input.
We don’t like to blow our own trumpet but… click here to see what they said about us.
